Lamp & Ledger — home

Pricing

Every plan gets every feature. You are priced by how many banks you connect, never by what you are allowed to see — because seeing clearly is the whole point, and it should not be the part you pay extra for.

Wherever your numbers sit today, they are not a verdict on you. Start with 40 days free on any plan, and see where the light falls.

And if none of those are for you yet

Free is a real plan, not a countdown. Every feature, and as many accounts as you like to keep by hand, for as long as you want, with no card. The one thing it does not include is connecting a bank so it keeps itself up to date — that is what the plans above buy. You choose when you sign up, and you can change your mind at any point.

Before anything is ever charged

Lamp & Ledger is free to use right now, and a plan is something you choose rather than something you are moved onto. Every plan starts with 40 days free, and you will know the date and the amount long before anything is charged. We would rather lose the sale than surprise you.

  • 40 days free on every plan, with the end date and the amount shown when you sign up.
  • A reminder email before the first charge, with a one-click cancel in the email.
  • Cancel in one click from Settings. No retention questions, no phone call.
  • A no-questions refund within 7 days of a first charge.
  • Advance notice of any price change, and we will not change the price or the allowance during your 40 days.

Questions

What do I get without paying?
A real plan, not a trial that runs out. Free gives you every feature and as many accounts as you like to keep by hand, for as long as you want, with no card. What it does not include is connecting a bank so it updates itself — that is what the plans above buy, and you can add one whenever it would help. Nothing you have entered is ever held back from you.
Will I be charged per bank or per feature?
Per bank. Every connected institution carries a monthly fee from the connection provider whether you open the app or not, so it is the only part of this product with a real cost per person. Every plan gets every feature, and manual accounts stay unlimited on all of them, so you can always track something by hand.
What counts as one connection?
One login at one institution — not one account. A single login at your bank that shows a checking account, a savings account and two cards is one connection. But if you and your Spouse each have your own login at the same bank, that is two.
What happens after the 40 days?
The plan you chose starts, at the price you saw when you signed up. We will email you before that happens, with a one-click cancel in the email. Forty days is deliberate: it covers a full billing cycle — a rent payment, a paycheck, a statement — which is when a budget starts telling you anything.
What happens if money gets tight and I stop paying?
You keep your account and everything in it. A plan that no longer covers your connections stops syncing them, and after a grace period they become accounts you update by hand — every transaction you have stays exactly where it is. Nothing is deleted, and nobody is locked out of their own records. If you want to leave altogether you can erase everything yourself from Settings, with no email and no waiting.
Can I export my data?
Only partly. You can export a payoff schedule as CSV today, but not your register or your budget. Bulk export is on the list, and you should know that going in.
It is one person. What if you stop working on it?
A fair question to ask of anything holding your bank connections, and it deserves a straight answer rather than a reassuring one. There is no lock-in to soften it: no contract, and a delete button that releases every bank connection and erases your records without going through me. The risk is real, and the exit is one click.
